When something
bad happens to us it is easy to focus on the problem and how bad it is. We say things like "it's not fair - why does
this always happen to me?" or "this is impossible, there's nothing I can do
about it", and the more we repeat these negative thoughts to ourselves the more
debilitating they become. These helpless
thoughts then produce negative energy which builds and builds until we can see
nothing but the problem and become incapable of doing anything about it.
Over the
next two months why not try changing your viewpoint and attitude by focusing on
solutions rather than problems? Think of
your problems as challenges to be solved and then focus positive energy into
finding solutions. Even if a problem
seems insurmountable say to yourself "I don't yet know what the answer to this
challenge is but I'm sure I can find one. After all, there's always something I can do to change the situation."
Remember, you
can never change something that has already happened so why waste your energy
worrying about it? Instead, focus all
your efforts on finding a course of action that will take you forward into a
positive situation and give you back control of your life. Once you are able to focus on solutions
rather than problems you'll find your whole life changing and becoming more
positive, more productive and more rewarding.
