< Go Back The past is past, learn from it then let it go Posted: Dec 13, 2019 "The past has no power to stop you from being present now. Only your grievance about the past can do that. What is grievance? The baggage of old thought and emotion." ~ Lao Tzu
It doesn't matter how hard you try, you cannot change the past. Nothing you can do will alter or undo what has been said and done. However, you can learn and benefit from the past and you can change the way you think about and react to what happened before. Every time you view the past from the present do so dispassionately, ignore your old patterns of thought and reactions, and look instead for the positive value in all the things you have thought and done and in everything that has been done to you.
Focus on those positives, combine them with the new experiences that happen to you every day, and use them all to help you move forwards towards your goals. With your ever-increasing lifetime of experience and a clear set of goals to aim for you'll find it easier and easier to keep on track towards your chosen destination no matter how many times you get blocked, knocked back or diverted on the way.
Remember, what's past really is past so concentrate on being present for today and using all your experiences to achieve the best you can in the future.
