< Go Back The 10 Commandments of Continuous Improvement Posted: Mar 20, 2015 "The
man who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything" said W C Magee in a
sermon in 1868. In other words making
mistakes is fine, and sometimes even desirable, so long as you learn something
valuable from them that will improve your performance in the future. This applies equally to your business life
and your personal life.
So,
with this in mind, here are what I light-heartedly call The 10 Commandments of
Continuous Improvement. Remind yourself
of them daily and keep your mind and your attitude open and flexible. No-one knows what's around the corner so stay
focused and learn to bend with the wind.
Abandon fixed ideas.
Problems are opportunities.
Think of ways to make it
possible.
Seek ideas from many people.
Ask 'why?' five times.
Use your ideas, don't hide
them away.
Go for the simple solution,
not the perfect one.
No excuses needed.
Correct mistakes straight
away.
There is no end to
improvement.
